I switched on half-way through Channel 4's Operation Muslim Vote documentary last night, which followed the activities of MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Committee)
, an organisation campaigning for greater involvement of British Muslims in the democratic process, in the run-up to the Election.
I don't know much about MPAC, and there's some debate to be had around what 'the Muslim vote' might actually be
, but I really admired the determination of Asghar and Mudasser. They might sometimes have been flying by the seat of their pants (fact-checking is probably quite important in a leafleting campaign), but they got out there and got people thinking and talking. Good stuff.
